for staying in an apartment or villa for less than a week, you shoud directly speak with the owner...look for speciality lodgings or for villas here in TA and try to contact the owner...in low season 5 nights rent is possible...otherwise you'll have to pay for a week
Use the web and T/A reviews. When I find a place that looks good, I always just call or e-mail and tell them what terms I want. Frequently we are able to get to some fair accommodation, sometimes not. Most of them are more interested in getting a customer more than sticking to their pre-conceived schedule.
Try Le Torri in Tuscany...we are 4 sibling and partners meeting for a family reunion there in May...we've rented 2-2 bedroom apts.
Comes highly recommended. Good luck.
