Lovely hotel for wedding night..?

Hi,

I am getting married on 4th september 09 in Montevettolini. Most of my guests are staying in Monticatini terme-I am looking for an amazing hotel nearby for my wedding night. I don't want it to be too far away but can't seem to find anything special enough-Grand Hotel e la Pace looked good, but the reviews are terrible.

Any recommendations please?

Many thanks

I am not sure what you consider "special enough"

Some possibilities -

Hotel Tiretta, Montecatini Terme

Villa San Michele, Fiesole

Villa delle Rose, Pescia

Thanks for that.

I love Villa San Michele, but it is too far away for us after the reception.

I would like a plush hotel, I don't mind spending the money for my wedding night!

Any other suggestions welcome!

Thanks

When we were looking for a romantic place for our 5th anniversary I came across these villas in the area of Lucca and Pisa:

http://www.hotelrelaisorologio.com/ in Pisa

Congratulations on your wedding, by the way!

Hi, we live in Montevettolini and the best local hotel is the Grotta Giusti Spa, around 2 miles from the village. Eyewateringly expensive, frequented by the likes of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones (neighbours of ours are friends of theirs), but excellent.

My favourite romantic hotel near Florence is

Villa La Massa but it is not next door to Monticatini

Villa Gaia Hotel in Montecatini Alto http://www.villagaia.it/ offers stunning views and spacious rooms with buffet breakfasts served on their terrace, overlooking the valley. However, it is not on the order of the Villa Michele in Fiesole.

The Palazzo Alexander within the walls of Lucca offers luxurious furnishings and superb service: http://www.palazzo-alexander.it/.

Another lovely place, on the outskirts of Lucca, is the Hotel Albergo Villa Marta: http://www.albergovillamarta.it/.

Best wishes to you and your betrothed.

Hi I'm looking into getting married in Montevettolini too and staying in Montecatini but how are you planning on transporting your guests between the two towns?

Hi! I highly recommend the Grotta Giusti in Monsummano terme. Elegant rooms, beautiful grounds and you can treat yourself to a dip in the Thermal pool, a fragrant massage or a steam bath in the natural grotto. My husband and i treated ourselves to a weekend there last winter -- very expensive but it was worth every penny!! By the way, the food is exceptional too. For your wedding nite you can reserve a suite. Check out their website www.grottagiustispa.com
