Corleone

Hello,

I am going to be arriving into Palermo in July. I would like to visit Corleone for half a day and have found a bus that goes early from Palermo which is great. However we want to get from Corleone to Taormina (or Catania at least) from Corleone without having to return to palermo. Is there a train or bus that goes from Corleone to Catania direct??

Thanks

Just out of curiosity....if you are wanting to visit Corleone because of the Godfather movies....know that scenes of Corleone were really filmed in Savoca near Taormina. The Bar Vitelle, the wedding church, the after wedding walk into town all filmed in Savoca. Those sights are still there in Savoca.

If for other reasons....sorry...forget I said it.

Welcome to Sicily Sinead_b20!

Unfortunately there is no train station in Corleone – You would be required to return to Palermo.

Corleone has the name recognition because of the Godfather movies, but there’s very little there to see and do.

Stay in Corleone???:

In addition to Savoca near Taormina, Forza d'Agrò and the Giardini train station were film locations for The Godfather.

AST runs bus service between Palermo and Corleone – The AST bus schedules will update shortly for summer, so check “Orario estivo” for the updates.

That is very helpful.

The Godfather movies were our main reason for making a detour to Corleone, but seen as Taormina is our actual holiday destination it would be easier to just go to Savoca once we get there.

Thank you for the reply. This is great info!!!

Thanks again!!!

Corleone is a bit out of the way – Perhaps better use your time with a group bus Godfather excursion from Taormina since public transport to Savoca isn’t the most reliable.
