2 nights in Catania - travelling alone - where to stay?

I am a female who will be spendinng two nights in Catania by myself. I would like to do a day trip to Taormina on one of the days so I am looking for somewhere to stay that I can easily get to the bus stop and somewhere very CLEAN and affordable and safe. I will also be catching the bus to Messina to leave Catania so somewhere not to far from that bus stop either.

Any suggestions? Thank you : )

Sicilian isn’t a dialect, but a language. Nowadays, standard Italian is taught in schools. Sicilian is still spoken by the older people, and those interested in preserving the Sicilian culture.
