Feast of Assumption? Shore Excursions? Recommendations?

Heya,

Our ship will be docking in Cagliari on August 15 10AM-6PM – which I understand is a Feast of Assumption. Meaning everything is closed… so what does it mean for cruisers? Will there be anything going on?

I'm thinking of doing a tour with Richardo from tourswithlocals – he still plans on running the tour

Description:

-Our Lady of Bonaria Basilica and Sanctuary

-Panoramic sight from Monte Urpinu Park

-Poetto beach

-Molentargius-Saline Park and birdwatching (flamingos)

Cagliari city center (walking tour):

-St. Mary's Cathedral

-Royal Palace

-St. Remy Rampart

-Free time

Would you recommend that? Or something else?

Thanks

PS. Feel free to privately message me.

Ferragosto is a big deal in Sardinia. Unfortunately a lot of the fun stuff (concerts etc.) happens in the evening after you have sailed.

But there will be tons going on during the day, restaurants etc. will be open, and it will be very crowded (and hot).

Looks like a reasonably good taster of Cagliari to me.
