Vineyards and camping

Hi all,

We have hired a campervan (a wicked van not a motorhome) for a week starting and ending in Venice (route completely open, but we intend to visit the lakes, parma, modena etc). We would really like to spend a day or so visiting wineries as part of our trip. Are there any vineyards which have campsites nearby? We do not need a fancy campsite at all. We are completely open to areas, but our research has suggested we should go to the verona area.

Alternatively would we be better booking a tour? If so, can anybody recommend any companies?

Many thanks for any advice for anybody can provide.

Clare

I don't think there is a better area rather than others but only depending by periods and weather forecast.

There is a camp site i'd recommend for its location because its across the borders of Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Lombardy allowing the travellers to visit 1) the Colli Euganei and its wineries. 2) Modena to taste tortellini, parmigiano, balsamic vinegar, lambrusco etc. 3) Mantova with its renaissance buildings. 4) Cycling or boating along the big Italian river (the Po) all within 80 minute drive maximum.

The only time it 'd not be suggested there, is during the big heat waves of the summer cause the mosquitos

If it does not appeal to you, should wait for other responses or make more research rather than booking a tour.
