Possible? Canal view with balcony under €220?

Ok I've looked, my head hurts. I like the American Dinesen, I can pay more but I don't want to really. I'd like to keep it under $300 or €216 a night. Is this a reality? I'm having a hard time finding this since I can't sort by much other than price....

Ok...? I guess after speaking with my husband about price shopping he basically confirmed what I'm thinking but hard to give in that I'm using points I have accumulated so why not stay somewhere nice. Go big or go home lol. Technically I could spend up to about $350-400/usd a night if I had to.

It is possible (I've made a general search for the first week of september but I wasn't sure about your dates):

I've used airbnb for a while now and never had a bad experience... there are just a few I could find with a fast search.. you can use the keyword search to pin down exactly what you want, I've used the "canal view" expression to make it faster.. hehe

Is a room with a Grand Canal view essential? Because these can be seriously expensive.

For many years I have stayed in Hotels with side canal views if you want them though I consider them not to be an essential part of a good Venice holiday as I only slep in my room and do not spend time gazing out of bedroom windows.

Venice best seen out of your Hotel room walking the streets or sitting outside -canal-side if you wish - having a drink and watching the world go by.

Well, sorry.. But for what's worth, I didn't see the word "hotel" there that's why I've assumed it was a general search and also I'm very fond with the idea of renting an entire flat... At least after my 2012 (with hotel) and 2013 (with apartment) European vacations I've decided to go for the 2014 one with apartments as well :)

EinWi I us the Hotel American Dinesen frequently. It lies on the Rio San Vio, a fairly busy side canal. I have, in the past, had a front room with a canal view, and indeed a side view of the Grand Canal from the little balcony, However nowadays i do ot bother with a canal view room.

As a hotel I like it, pleasant staff and breakfast with computer available for general use if you forget your laptop
