Airport to Hotel

Robert J, can you help me....

When we arrive at the airport, is it possible to get a taxi to our Hotel Ca' Vendramin di Santa Fosca ? Is this a "water taxi" we are looking for or a "cab" on the street?

Sorry, I am just a little confused about transportation and reading the many comments of carrying luggage while trying to find your Hotel.

Thank you for your help,

CairoFL@aol.com

You have various choices. You can book on arrival at the Consorzio Motoscafi Venezia desk in the Arrivals Hall a private water taxi which will take you from the Marco Polo landing stage direct across the lagoon to your hotel in about 20/25 minutes This will cost 80 euros + and will take up to 6 passengers and all their luggage for this fee.

Cheaper is an ATVO express coach (3 euros) or an ATVO service bus No 5 (1 euro) which will take you as far as Piazzale Roma. You will then have to carry your luggage to the water bus landing stage at Piazzale Roma and take the No. 1 to S. Marcuola landing stage a little way down the Grand Canal. Tickets cost 5 euros, 24 hour passes cost 12 euros and 72 hour passes cost 25 euros. You will then have to carry your own luggage to your Hotel. There is no motorised traffic - cabs, cars, buses in Venice anywhere beyond Piazzale Roma - all pedestrianised or on water.

The problem with carting luggage around Venice is that many streets are narrow medieval alleys and are often very crowded.

You could get a water taxi to the vicinity of your hotel from the airport, which is about € 90, or a land taxi to Piazzale Roma the terminus of Cars etc, then you would have to catch a water bus to the stop nearest your stop Ca'd'oro, (water Bus no. 1 )

You could get a bus from the airport, ATVO non stop. taking 25 mins cost € 3. kiosks in arrivals for tickets, and directions for water taxis, land taxis are outside the terminal believe they cost around €30.,

You may have to carry your bags a short distace as not all hotels have canals really near.

Thank You Sophie, I was looking for its website and never found it!

A guess a Limo right to the door is out of the question! (Just joking)

We will definitely be packing light then.
