Arriving by car, what is the easiest way into Venice

I will be arriving in Venice on a Saturday afternoon by car traveling from Trieste. Which is quickest and easiest place to park for one night. Is it better to park at the airport, then take a water taxi or ferry into Venice or park at Piazzale Roma/Tronchetto. How is the traffic crossing the bridge? Cost is not a big issue, convienence and speed is. We are staying in the San Marco area.

There are weekend parking offers at the airport - I saw them advertised on the side of the parking areas. You could then taxi ( 20-30 mins) into the city or Alilaguna (1-11/2 hrs). This is probably the quickest option.

Yes you can go to Piazzale Roma about a further 20 mins drive on from the airport. Fom there you could taxi taking about 15 -20 mins or vaporetto 30 mins.

Obviously the alilaguna and vaporetto are the more reasonable in cost.....
