Appreciate up to date advice...

I've never been to Venice before but it's on my long list of places to visit. I've had, what looks like, a good offer sent me but it does not include transfers or local taxes.

I have read the traveller articles etc as indicated in the Top Questions but would like to hear from members who have been recently what the best way to get from Traviso airport to a hotel in the area of Bridge of Sighs. If I go it is likely to be in January but the offer does not state the flight times. As this will only be a two night break I don't want to spend huge amounts of money and time getting to and from the airport and miss out on Venice itself (hope that makes sense).

Your helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

There ia best which meets up with Ryan air flights Treviso to Venice,

see www.atvo.it it is around 30/40 mins journey, this goes to Piazzale Roma in Venice, from Piazzale Roma to San Marco a Vaporetto (Water Bus) €7,

As Sophie says, a bus meets each flight at Treviso.

I recommend you buy the Travel Pass on arrival in Venice as it makes using the vaporetti much cheaper than the €7/trip normal fare.

Local taxes will only be the small charge of the Tourist tax, approximately €3-5/night depending on the quality of your hotel.

Thanks Sophie, so do I.

Now I'm not stuck to the limited time of a special offer, when would regular visitors say is the best time of year to visit Venice?

Ok I guessed that's probably what you meant. It does get a little to hot for me at that time of year but we cope somehow. Is it very crowded in Venice in these months?
