2 days what should we do/see?

we are visiting Venice for 2 nights in July. Son is singing in St Marks Basilica on Sunday evening. Never been before. What should our priority trips/tourist sights be?

Take a water bus the length of the Grand Canal.

The No 1 water bus runs from Piazzale Roma the length of the Grand Canal and then across the lagoon to the Lido.]The No 2 water bus also runs from Piazzale Roma the length of the Grand canal as far as San Zaccaria and then turns across to S. Giorgio Maggiore (excellent views from the campanile there) before completing the circuit along the Giudecca canal and back to Piazzale Roma.

Tickets for either cost 7.50 euros, valid for 60 minutes and must be swiped over the card reader on the landing stages before use. There are ticket kiosks on all landing stages and you can start the journey from any convenient landing stage along the route.
