Padua apartments recommendations?

Hi, I am searching for an apartment for around 5 nights in the historic cnetre of Padua. It would be for 2 people. Does anyone have a recommendation? I am used to this type of accommodation in France, but not tried it before in Italy. I would love some help thanks! Vicolivia

If you mean Bed & Breakfast rooms downtown, you might want to have a look at this list:

bed-and-breakfast-in-italy.com/town_area.cfm…

most of the accomodations have their own websites.

Hey....Ceccoman.

I don't want to stay in a B & B (i mentioned that in my post). What I want is to have an apartment so that I can cook my meals to save money because my budget is small. Do you know people (honest people) who have apartments to rent in the centro historico ? Since I won't have a car, I don't want to stay too far from downtown. Don't want to spend all my time on the public buses. I have tried the websites that the other guys who responded to my request for help have suggested but, no luck: I didn't find anything -

either the site had no apartments in Padua or what they had was wayyyy too expensive - one apartment was 7,125 euros a week ! !

I hope you can come through for me, man. I'm getting desperate here.

Ciao.

Hi Milo,

unfortunately I don't know anybody with an apartment to rent downtown, I will pass the voice anyhow, you never know.

In the meanwhile I would suggest you to post a request for a room to rent in local websites used by uni students, I wrote you a PM.

Hi, this may not be what you are looking for, but we have booked Apartment Isabella, right in the heart of Padova. Here is a link (there are other links on Google):

We are going in 2010, and thus far all contact with the owner has been fantastic. We looking forward to having the experience of staying in the centre of the town.

Hi.

Glad that you've found an apartment in Padova for your trip ! and thanks for the reference. I've just sent out an availability request to the owner of Apt. Isabella. I hope I get a positive reply. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Ciao and Buon viaggio nella Bella Italia.

We have used a couple of apartments in Padova;

bandbpadovabarbaranegri.it/content/…

This is a ground floor apartment with basic kitchen below the owners' house. Just outside the walls, so easy walking to the historic centre.

http://www.allaspecola.com/en_house.html

This calls itself a B&B but is actually an apartment in a modern block in the historic area close to the observatory (specola). The apartment had two bedrooms, lounge, kitchen etc. We rented only one room and another traveller was occupying the other, but you can rent the lot.

Have you tried VRBO (vacation rentals by owner)?

There's one described in Padova that we're dying to know more about for our next trip there. Sounds quite enticing: right next to the Piazze (delle Erbe and dei Signori):

If you do stay there give a trip report here to let us know if it's as great as it sounds.
