Good beaches on Italian Adriatic?

We're choosing a holiday at the moment and want a beach holiday with our 1 year old probably staying at a Eurocamp. There's so much to choose from but the Veneto area sounded attractive purely because we could easily fit in a couple of day trips to Venice. The rest of the holiday is the most important however, obviously we want the beaches to be beautiful and generally for the area to be a lovely place to visit. I'm finding it difficult to find any info about the beaches (Cavallino/Treporti etc) and I'm beginning to wonder if it's because they aren't very nice places at all. Would the beaches of Tuscany be more appealing even if this means giving up on Venice for this year at least?

Any info on Italian beach holidays would be very welcome. Old fashioned seaside/beautiful fishing villages and harbours, unspoilt... that's what we're looking for....

Thanks

Poppy

The adriatic beaches in the north are not so famous cause it's better Sardinia, the beach of Tuscany ( very famous in front of Elba isle ) or the south part of the adriatic like Puglia.

So, if you are searching the best sea in Italy you won't find it in Veneto, but here you can find a good sea, maybe the best accomodation for families and a lot of interesting activities like food, art (not only venice), shops open until late nights and go on so....

one good choice that make a lot of tourist and a lot of venetian for their holidays near Venice is to stay in one of the best campsite not only in italy but in Europe !!!

I'm talking of Marina di Venezia http://www.marinadivenezia.it/

here you can find the sea, swimmg pool, jokes for children, you can go to jesolo beach to buy until late night, go to venice go to aqualandia

http://www.aqualandia.it/ita/home.php

and go on so

Thanks so much for your reply- very helpful! The campsite seems really good and while we're looking into Tuscany we've added this to our list too. Thanks!

What time of year are you thinking of going?

If it's in August then no where will be unspoiled but full of people.
