daytrips from Torino

Hi!

I am going to Turin next week and I would like ask some tips for daytrips. What I already found is a trip to Sacra di San Michele or to Basilica di Superga, but for the last one we need much less then a day.

Is there any other interesting place to see within 1 hour by public transportation from Torino?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Venaria and the other Savoy houses that surround Turin: Stupinigi, Racconigi, Rivoli etc. etc.

For me the Venaria (bus lines #72 and #11) would be more than enough, but if you're fond of royal residences you can visit them all.

You can go to Rivoli from Turin by metro , bus and public escalators. The Palace houses the National Museum of Contemporary Art, too.

Chieri has a nice historic center.

I like very much the Fenestrelle Fort that's up in the mountains.

You could go to the Langhe region (Wine country), too, but it takes 2 hours by public bus.

For other ideas:

Hope it help, welcome to Turin!

Bardonecchia is just over an hour by train from Turin. The train leaves Porta Nuova every 16 mins past the hour. Nice vistas along the way, i.e. Along the Susa Valley. Cost of one way ticket € 5.90. The town itself is small and many shops lined its main shopping street, i.e. Via Medail. The orange mini busses takes you around the area and are also free to ride.

Regards.
