Strikes between November 14-18

Hello !

Are there any strikes (transportation) planed in Italy/Lombardia between November 14 and 18 2012? How long will they last ?

Is there an official homepage where we could check it before?

Thank you so much for your kind replies!

Hi Linnen

for what I know on the 14th of November from 2pm to 6pm there is a Trenitalia strike (railway).

The program for the medium/long distance trains will be published probably today on their website https://www.lefrecce.it

The regional trains are not granted in that timeframe and no circulation program will be published.

regards..

On the 16th of November (Friday) there is the local transport strikes: in Milan there will be reduced services between 8.45 am and 3 pm and from 6pm till the end of the day. In this time frame subways will be closed and buses will circulate with very low frequency.

About Trenitalia railway strike on the 14th of November from 2pm to 6pm, the strike has not impact on local railway transport in Tuscany (regional trains), as this region has been deeply damaged by bad weather.

@ carmen0806 and rongpuk, thank you so much for your precious inputs - really appreciate them!

Our concern was actually more about international train connections, as Eurocity from Switzerland to Milano.

May I ask you another question?

Is it easy to find a taxi on Sunday late afternoon to go to Milano Centrale from Corso Europa (close to Duomo) ? In Paris, all taxis are very busy on week-ends and you have to stand hours to get one, and therefore plan long ahead if you have to catch a train,. How is it in Milano?

Thank you in advance for your kind feedback!

Hi Linnen

International trains are safe (there was no problem even on the last 14th november).

On my opinion, yes it' easy to find a taxi in Milano Centrale. In the main hall, leaving the platform at your back, go totally out to the right or to the left. At the exit you'll find taxis. When there's a strike I use to wait no more than 30'. So you should be faster.

Enjoy and if you like come back and tell us your experience! :)

ciao!

Carmen
