From my search, it seems that for Florence, Rome, Venice...there is city tax on hotel stays.

I am unable to find such information for Milan. So can someone advise if there is any city tax on hotel stays in Milan?

Not yet. They're talking about one for 2012.

So how much will this be ? What percentage ?

I have booked and prepaid a hotel stay for April 2012 (Milan), and

it wasnt clear if and what city tax will apply.

Thanks,

It hasn't been decided. They've said they want to do it differently than Rome and Florence, where it's 1 Euro for a one-star, 2 Euro for a two-star, etc., charging less for one-stars and possibly more for five-stars.

Just back from Venice and was told they just instituted a change where if you stay six nights, you don't pay any tax for the 6th night.....

Maybe it goes by percentage rather than by 1 euro per star?
