Luggage storage lockers at Central Train Station

I was wondering if there are lockers for hire at the train station so we can leave our bags there and have a look around Milan before checking into our hotel?

Are they big enough for big packs?

How much are they?

ALSO- if anyone knows if this is the case for all major train stations in Italy?

Thanks

You will find left luggage storage instead of lockers in Italy. From the train web site:

http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

go to <<In the region>>

pick your region, for MIlan, <<Lombardia>>

choose <<Servizi in Stazione>>

First letter of city <<M>>

Look in the column <Deposito bagagli>>

In Milano Centrale there is a luggage deposit.

You can use this process for any city with train service.

Brilliant- Thanks for that. Would never have found it. Tried looking for the info on the site before but with no luck.

Hi --

Take your luggage to your hotel, they will store it for you in their luggage room, and perhaps even take it to your room when it is ready. It's a normal service that almost all hotels in Europe provide for their guests. They also will store your luggage for you after you check out if you have a long wait for your transportation to your next stop.

There is a manned left luggage at Central station, depending on the time of day sometimes there's a long line as all the luggage is searched before you can leave it so allow for this.

Yes, you can store your luggage at the Central Station in Milan. However, PLEASE NOTE, your case may not weight more than 20 kgs. on the dot. They will not accept it if the weight is 21 kgs. I was there 2 days ago and most people were having to take items out their cases in order to reach the required weight of 20 kgs. The baggage area remains open until midnight, seven days per week.

Thanks for the 20 kg tip. Do you have a maximum number of luggage per person that you can store? Such as two per person or only one per person?
