My husband, 12 yr old son, and I are living in the UK through April 23. We are planning to go up into the Scottish Highlands until April 29 or 30 and then we need to get to Varenna (Lake Como). We figured we'll fly into Milan (Malpensa) and take the train to Varenna. But is there a better idea? In a related question - which would be better, taking the train back down to either Heathrow or Gatwick to fly out or to fly out of Scotland to Milan?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
