Serravalle Scrivia outlet is the closest to Genoa (40 min by car).. if you look for designer cloths you have better to go there or go to Milan (less than 2 hours form Genoa by car).. ..if you go shopping in Genoa you havo to look for thing more peculiar than designer cloths.. you have to walk in the old town and look for small shops selling spices or artcrafts or handycrafts the old town it's more similar to a Kasbah than to a Shopping mall.. I really love it !!

Besides the historic district and its small shops, the main shopping street (and one of the major thoroughfares) is Via Venti Settembre, which connects Piazza de Ferrari (the city's main square) with the large square where the Brignols train station is located.

Other than that, the McArthur Glen outlet center at Serravalle Scrivia is great but not easy to reach by public transport - see http://serravalle.mcarthurglen.it
