Hiking trails closed

3 of the 5 major trails have been closed due to landslide damage, which is a disappointment today. No word on when they will reopen. Is this normal?

I was just in Vernazza. All of the main trail going from town to town overlooking the sea is closed, except for one small section. Other trails are open, but not the main trail, except for the one section. Out of Vernazza, the trail is closed in both directions.

They are closed because of extreme weather that caused damage to the trails and they are in need of repair before they can be opened again. It was a tough weather year nearly everywhere this past year.

We were walked the Vernazza-Corniglia path last Friday without any problems. There were some official looking people standing next to the booth at the beginning of the path, we asked whether it was okay to walk the path and they said yes.
