Cinque Terre in March?

My son and I are interested in coming to the Cinque Terre area the third week in March. Would this be worthwhile, or will it be too cold and rainy? I am mainly interested in hiking and enjoying the surroundings (and eating lots of pesto.)

Any other recommendations this time of year for Italy?

1. Re: Cinque Terre in March?

I have visited in March and the weather was good. WE wore layered clothes and there was no rain that day. However, it can be rainy but usually not constant.

Even in the rain, you can enjoy the pesto and the foccacia!!

Buon Viaggio!!

Thanks for your replies! We are going to visit then! I think we are going to search for a room in Vernazza once we get there, unless someone has a better recommendation.
