You really cannot go wrong in Vernazza. All of the restaurants in the main square are very good. Gambero Rosso, Trattoria Gianni and Trattoria Del Capitano are my personal favorites. At Trattoria Del Capitano, try the Zuppa di Provencale...out of this world. Also for quick and delicious Pizza that is either served by the slice or made to order try Pizzeria Ercole on the main street, near the square (this is as close to fast food as you will get in Vernazza and fabulous) For breakfast, visit Il Pirata at the top of town near the post office. The sicilian pastries are to die for!! This region is famous for seafood, including fresh anchovies which are delicious and is the home of Pesto....try the local wines and schiacchetra!

Trattoria al Sandro is about halfway up the main road from the harbor. The food was good and it was very reasonable.

Ristorante da Sandro is absolutely delicious!!!! The minestrone soup is a must!!!!!! Once you come down the train station, the restaurant is to your left across the Blue Marlin. Alessandro is a fabulous chef!

Gambero Rosso is to die for! We ate there two nights because we couldn't get enough of it...

Get a pizza at Blue marlin ...sipping Sangria and people watch the locals. All the restaurants there were deliscious. The castle at the way top near the pier was also good. Giannia Franzi delicios as well. You wont go wrong with any meal here. Make sure to buy Pesto to take home. I wish we had bought more...yum yum
