Is there anything as wonderful as Vernazza in France?

I would like to find a place that feels as lovely as Vernazza and is on the sea somewhere in France. Does anybody know about a place like that over there?

At the risk of starting an argument, I would say the short answer is "No".

In my limited experience Provence is even more commercialised than the C.T. However you might like la Rochelle on the Bay of Biscay, that has preserved its integrity but feeling like Italy ?! No Way !!

Not Vernazza, but nice - Menton just over the border, a lovely town!

Of the places I mentioned in my reply to you on the Provence forum tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g187216-i137-k3123… I would put Collioure as the closest in 'feel' - but it's still very different.

perilizia, I very much liked your options mentioned on the Provence forum, and if proximity to Italy is a factor, Villefranche might be a very good choice.
