UK flights for misano motogp 2013

I'm starting to plan a trip to motoGP this year and am looking to go to the San marino GPin September. I live in the midlands - any advice on the best flights?

In my opinion Treviso is too far. The problem is that Ryanair are just cancelling flights left, right and centre. I believe that the only destinations safe are either Bologna or Pisa. Fly from Stansted to Bologna. I often tend to take advantage £19 Premier Inn rooms and go down to London the day before. From Bologna it's 90km to Rimini. Better to do the travelling this end and if I can do it from Yorkshire, you can do it from The Midlands.

Try to get a flight to Rimini, Ancona or Bologna. The GP is in Misano Adriatico, not in San Marino.

You can find many offers for one of these 3 airports in internet.

Has anyone done Bolgna airport to Misano by train? My son's going to the race on his own and doesn't want to drive from Bolgna.

Easy. It might be worth getting the direct train to Rimini & then a bus to Misano.

Take the train to Rimini (+/- 1 hour), go out of the railwaystation and take bus n°11 to Riccione (€2,00 for a ticket), get off the bus at the last busstop and then take the bus to Misano Adriatico.

From Bologna airport, I reckon at the most 4 hrs. The important thing is remember to get the direct train to Rimini and not the local. If you are lucky with the connections it will be much less than 4 hrs.

Bologna Misano by train is much faster, take a regional train and you'll arrive in around 1 h 45 min., easier and faster than taking a train and 2 buses (the bus from Rimini to Riccione takes 1 hour, the train 10 minues, 15 to Misano!).

I go to Riccion every summer since I was born but never take the bus from Rimini, even if I want to go for a day to visit Rimini I take the train because the bus is soooo slow.

from Bologna airport to Bologna station taxi or aerobus in 15-30 minutes

So if you are lucky with coincidences is less than 3 hours
