What other city / town can we visit

We will be spending 4 days in Rimini (couple and 2 kids, girl10 and boy 13 years old) We are wondering whether there is an interesting town close by we could also visit by car, maybe on a day trip, that the kids will enjoy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

San Marino is good. The spectacular San Leo fortress is very close to San Marino. You should consider Urbino as well. The Duke's palace there is incredible. It is about an hour's drive from Rimini.

Really depends how far you wish to drive. What time of year??

Personally I like Riccione (did that cycling and by car).

There is a car park on Viale Milano near the seafront (near the Hotel Roma). Just off Viale Milano on Viale Maria Cecerini there is a pedestrianised area with shops and restaurants (directly inland from Piazzale Roma on the seafront). This leads upto the railway station in Riccione

You could of course get the train there. It's only 1 euro and takes about 10mins

You can of course drive up to San Marino. A bit touristy now with mostly small shops and restaurants amongst the castle streets but nevertheless something different

Or for the kids (old and young)

Near Ravenna

In the countryside (might need a Navi/GPS9
