Honeymoon in may

Hi,

We are planning on going to Italy in May for ten nights. We are considering going to Lake Garda for 4 nights for some relaxation and then to Venice for maybe two nights and down to Tuscany for 4 nights probably stay in San Gimignano. Just wondering is Lake Garda worth going to that time of year will the weather be nice? Or would anyone recommend any other "beachy"/ lake place to go to relax and unwind! Also is San Gimignano the best place to stay to go on day trips to other towns and villages?

If you will not have a car, San Gimignano is not a good place to stay. To get anywhere else, you have to take a bus to Poggibonsi and then another bus or train.

Even if you have a car (which is pretty much essential for exploring this region), parking at San Gimignano is limited and expensive, and the town is dominated by tourism. You might do better to stay at Montepulciano or Montalcino, where parking is easier and there is some real life in the town.
