Train from Vienna to RomaTermini

I have booked a Austrian Overnight train from Wien Meidling to Roma Termini on 11th March.

The ticket says From: Wien Meidling

To : Roma Termini Outward:

11.03.2013 at 19:30

Your selected offer / your tickets:

FAHRSCHEIN + RESERVIERUNG: 59.00 EUR

2. Class, WIEN MEIDLING - FIRENZE SM, 11.03.2013 - 12.03.2013, EN 235, 19:30 - 06:18

I initially booked this option and wanted a change to a trenitalia train in Firenze since it would have reached 30 min earlier in Rome.

Later on I realised that the continuation on my original train wouid prevent hassle and not be worth. The entire ticket to Roma Termini from Meidling is still 59 Eur. Can I continue on my journey on the original train without a change?

Does it need a supplement since I made a wrong option initially because I din't fully understand the option?

You can't just continue on the original train without making a formal change. You could call the Austrian railroad, or you could do it at the station in Vienna. I'm pretty sure it would be no problem, since the price is the same, and maybe they don't even allow passengers to board in Florence. However, I still wouldn't do it without some communication with the railway. You never know, they may drop a car in Florence, and would have to put you in a different car if you were going all the way to Rome.

As it seems that the Train is operated by the OBB (Austrian Railways), you could try contacting them through their website: www.oebb.at/en/Services/Contact/index.jsp

General Customer Service by phone: +43 (0)5-1717

Or perhaps the Station Travel Office:

Wien Meidling

Eichenstraße 25

1120 Wien

Tel. +43 (0)1 / 93000-35685

or +43 (0)1 / 93000-33574

Fax +43 (0)1 / 93000-25830
