What is it called?

There is a great little hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant here in Houston run by the Garcia family. They serve a veal dish that has a very creamy white sauce with a hint of lemon. I usually order a bowl of spaghetti with that "lemony sauce".

Is there a proper name for that type sauce?

Well, I've had tagliolini al limone- but the tagliolini is the pasta , flat and ribbon like and the sauce seemed to have garlic. lemon, heavy cream and I think grated cheese- but the version I had also had tiny pieces of chopped ham - don't know if that is traditional.

Garcia to me sounds Spanish.

Any white sauce I can think of is ai 4 formaggi (chees) or panna, such as pennette panna e salmone, but no lemon in either.

Have you tried looking for their website? Maybe they have a menu online.

Carbonara is more on the yellow side as far as color is concerned and no lemon in it.

Well, if you confirm they are spanish, must be some spanish sauce or a secret family recipe.

Stettola, I have never heard of Garden City. But if you ever come to Houston, let me know. I a friend you have yet to meet!

But I will look for items on the menu that include "al limone". Thanks for your help!
