best pizza in rome???

Hi everyone,

What do you think is the best restaurant in central Rome for pizzas? Ideally cute, on a little side street and not choc a block rammed with tourists???

Many Thanks!! :o)

For me the hands down winner is Da Francesco on Via del Fico. A little side street off of Piazza Navona. Cute. Wonderful staff/owners. Great prices. Excellent, excellent pizza. Well, anything they have on the menu is probably wonderful ! We ate there twice last trip and we loved everything that we ate. When we were there it was mostly the locals that were eating there.Wow, I am drooling again !!! Enjoy ! When are you going??

Montecarlo IMO, opened and managed by a relative of Da Buffeto.

Very few tourists spot it but it's very central.

Side street off Emmanuelle, From Navona walk towards Campo fiori and turn right - 200 yds on right.

Completely authentic Rome experience, cheap too :-).

Hi! To eat best pizzas in Rome you have to go in these in pizzerias: "Da Baffetto" and "la Montecarlo" both in the historical centre, "Remo" in the neighborhood of Testaccio, "Dar Poeta", "Ivo" and " Panattoni" in Trastevere. Besides there are also "Manuia" and "Osteria Picchioni", but these are more expensive.

I hope you will spend a tasty Roman experience!!!

My favorite is Da Baffetto. Really, really good pizza! It is a small place with some outdoor seating as well.

My vote goes to "Dar Poeta", great pizza and nice athmosphere, try to be there early for dinner, the place is usually crowded and queuing maybe long.

Hi just won a weekend away to Rome ! First trip was my honeymoon second with or son and parents this next trip will be to celebrate our anniversary and i always go to Est Est Est for pizza.

Cheap and cheerful and makes any pizza in England an embarrasment

It's stuated on a side street off via palermo which runs parallel to via nazionale

didn't see many tourists and went twice in five days on last trip
