Tour company's that come to the cruise ship terminal????

We will be in Rome in May. I checked out the popular tour companies but I could not find out which ones will come and pick us up at the cruise terminal, if there are any. We have only about six hours and if they can pick us up and return us to the cruise terminal, that would save a lot of time. Thanks in advance.

Tour company for what specifically? Just a ride around Rome to see some of the sites from the outside? If so, there are some companies that will do that.

But, are you looking to do tours inside certain sites?

Can you clarify?

You want someone who can pick you up at the ship, Civitavecchia is a large port and there is no cruise terminal, so to speak. The berths used by cruise ships are miles apart so it's important to determine if the car service you use will pick up at the ship. Many do, it's a simply e-mail to verify.

We will be on a Princes Cruise. Would like to see the coliseum, Sistine chapel, museum, St. Peters. Only have about 6-7 hours.

The Sistine Chapel is inside the Vatican museums so you'll need to purchase advance tickets for a specific entry time. You can do this on line directly from the museums here: museivaticani.va/content/…visita-i-musei.html Given that you also want to see the basilica (St. Peter's) it's a good idea to choose a tour that includes both. That way your driver can drop you off at the museums's entrance and pick you up at the basilica (a half mile away).

If you want to see the inside of the Colosseum it's also a good idea to purchase tickets in advance.

Most car service/tour companies will not make these ticket purchases for you.

Numerous tour companies will pick you up at the port (Civitavecchia) for "Rome in a Day" kind of tour and return you there. A quick Google search returned numerous hits including:

https:/…full-day-tour-from-cruise-ship-rome (a company I have used multiple times and can recommend)

stefanorometours.com/tours/…

A few internet searches will turn up more options as well.

Does that 6-7 hours include the travel to and from Rome? If so, knock off about two hours from the total time in Rome and choose just one of those two sites - you could go to the Vatican Museums and see the outside of the Colosseum

Keep in mind that even with skip the line tickets for the Colosseum, there is still a security line which can sometimes be time consuming. And, read their website as to bag size limits, etc

If you check out the Italy Ports forum on Cruise Critic you can find recommendations from cruisers who do this frequently: boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php…

I can suggest you a young gentleman we've met in Rome. He was an amazing guide, an excellent driver and his car was so comfortable. His name is Claudio, rome custom tours the company. A few hours with him will seem to you a full class of history and civilization
