Orofino Stay and Visit Tours

I was on their website and am quite interested in their tour to Ischia and the Amalfi Coast. My husband and I are middle aged and would like to do this in the summer of 2011. If anyone has used this tour company in 2010 can you please let me know how they are? The prices seem quite reasonable compared to most others but there are mixed comments on the hotels.

Just got back from the 9-day "shoulder season" tour of the Amalfi Coast & Rome by "Stay and Visit." The hotel LOCATIONS were great, but the hotels themselves were tired, old, not updated, and had some nasty details (a lampshade in tatters with suspicious stains, bad mildew in the jetted tub...). Also, the hotel food in Ischia was SO mediocre (hellO, we were in ITALY!) that even though we'd already paid, we went out for almost every meal and paid again.

Debbie was terrific--and had to handle a group of 76! This was ridiculous, and really slowed us down. We ended up herded like sheep and not "allowed" to veer off the path for fear of losing one of us and slowing the whole oversized group. We should have been split into smaller groups. Also, staying on Ischia, where the hotel happened to be, meant at LEAST an hour boat ride to go ANYWHERE else & ended up with so much boat time that we felt everything sway even on land. We would have much rather stayed on the coast in Sorrento, Amalfi town, or Positano.

We don't have a lot of other tours to compare this to, but I wouldn't recommend this one, except for Debbie.

My husband and I went to Ischai and stayed at the Hotel Ischia. It was fantastic. Our room was large, clean and elegant with a fantastic view of the sea and below us the pool . The hotel food was fantastic and very well cooked. I am italian American and have high standards and this food was excellent.

The hotel is centrally located and the wonderful and romantic streets of the town are close.

The hotel staff were friendly and cheerful and the Spa facilities were fantastic.

Guests of any age can enjoy this hotel. I am 65. There is no such thiing as middle aged in Ischia.

I would return to the orofino property in a heartbeat.

Put your mind at ease. Granted the hotel itself is a little dated, but let's not forget that we're in Italy (Europe or most of the world outside of the US)...a place of history. My son and I traveled with the Amalfi Coast / Rome tour in Oct 2012 and found it to have been an opportunity to create a lifetime of memories. The hotel on Ischia and Rome were clean and the staff at each were very helpful. I too was skeptical at first but with time and discussion with the owners, I felt comfortable enough to plan the tour and was I glad I did. I find it a little confusing when people book a hotel at what I'd consider very reasonable rate and then expect the reasonable rates to fetch them a Four Season hotel. Let me just say, I've spend time at very high end hotels all over the world and have left very disappointed...not the case with this tour.

The extra day tours are well worth the money and I would encourage you to attend them all...don't miss a thing. There's a lot squeezed into the time you have but I wouldn't have it any other way. We are planning our next trip with the Stay and Visit very soon and this time I can't wait to take the whole family.

My closing advise, stop looking and start booking ..using Stay and Visit. For the record, I am unaffiliated with Stay and Visit and took our first trip Oct 2012 but can assure you it will not be the last.

My wife and I just returned from Orofino tours Ischia and Amalfi coast with Pompeii and Rome.

The tour was everything advertised and more. The accommodations were excellent. The tour guide Debbie was like family. The coordination between Orofino and ourselves prior to the tour were outstanding as well .

We would highly recommend this company to anyone considering visiting Italy!!

My wife and I, 2 kids and my mother were on the same trip as Lee and Veronica. Ischia is a beautiful island and Stay and Visit has a great hotel in an excellent location. I was worried at first since I hadn't heard of the company before, but when we got off the ferry from Naples and walked into the hotel, we all breathed a sigh of relief.

The Hotel is right in the town center of Ischia Porto with many shops and restaurants. The hotel food was outstanding and was a buffet to boot! A few of the dishes were exactly as my grandmother from Naples made them, a priceless flashback.

Exploring the Island was an experience we all were immersed in, we even found time to go to Negombo thermal park in Laco Ameno.

The tour guide, Debbie, was so very helpful and hospitable and made the entire journey smooth and relaxing. With all there is to do and see in Ischia and the Bay of Naples, the only thing better than a week in this paradise would be two weeks!

The bus trip to Rome was a nice finish to this wonderful trip with just enough time to see the highlights and catch a convenient flight time back home.

My wife and I visited Italy for the first time in May 2013 and were very happy with their beautiful hotel on the island of Ischia in the Bay of Naples. The food, service and decor were all first class. We had a room with a view of the Mediterranean that was breathtaking. The tour guide, Debbie, spoke fluent English, was very knowledgeable about the Amalfi Coast which we toured, and made our experience wonderful. We give the highest recommendation to Orofino Stay and Visit Tours -- and-- they are AFFORDABLE TOO.

my husband and I took the Rome tour in June 2013. It covered a lot of Italian highlights, the hotels were nice, our tour guide Debbie was delightful and even our bus driver was great! We had a nice sized group - about 14 or 16 and even though we all had different interests, we got along great and had a lot of fun. Price was reasonable too!
