Which town would be better to stay in?

While researching on the internet today on which town would be better to stay in around Sorrento and AC, I came across the following

walksofitaly.com/blog/travel-tips/salerno-so…

The only negative that I can see in staying in Salerno is the trip to Capri.

I would like to know what people think of this article, is Salerno really a better option than Sorrento?

Wow! Thankyou everyone for your answers, I am grateful.

I have been thinking, which is dangerous for me. Would this be a silly thing to do?

2 nights Salerno – Visit Pasteum on the full day

2 nights Positano – visit Almalfi and Ravello on the full day

3 nights Sorrento – visit Capri and Pompeii on the 2 full days

On the half days that we arrive, explore the town that we are in.

I know it is a lot of moving, but we will be living out of our suitcases, so we don’t need to unpack only drag our suitcases from town to town. The reason why I included Salerno is because both my husband and I want to see Pasteum and it’s easier to get to from there. I have done some research and it’s really expensive to hire a driver for the day from Sorrento, and to get there by public transport seems really hard. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. Even if you tell me I’m silly.

This will extend our stay to 7 nights in the area and to 25 nights overall in Italy.

Crazyh, Massa Lubrusne looks gorgeous. Maybe next time we are in Italy.
