Stolen camera

Hi there, my name is David I'm a travelling photographer from Scotland, I am not looking for a couch but I am wondering if I could please have 2 minutes of your time and your help.

I was robbed in Pisa on the 26th if October, a Monday - robbed of everything most dear to me- my camera bag containing my £1500 camera and my GoPro, my 2 lenses and worst of all, several memory cards containing the last three months of my photography.

The reason I am writing to you is because I want to try and spread the word as far as I can and to also try and let people know what my bag looks like, because if bag is possibly located, I might be saved because all the memory cards are in a side pocket on the side of the bag.

If you follow the link below you can see images of my bag and camera and I was wondering if you could please share this with any friends you have in Pisa to try and spread the word.

Also if you know of any webpages, Facebook pages or anything that I could possibly share the story to, please please let me know. I want to try and spread the story as far as I can.

I sincerely ask for your help and I thank you for your time.

Below is the link explaining my story and containing images of bag and camera.

Thank you

Two sites I know of are https://www.facebook.com/Lost.and.Found.Cameras/ and http://www.camerafound.com

Good luck reuniting with your memory cards at least. I know I would be devastated if I lost mine.

David. I'm so sorry this happened to

You. I too have traveled Europe and I would be devastated if this happened to me. Try making a forum post in www.fineartamerica.com. There are artists all over the world on this site that may be able to help. Good luck to you.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. I lost a camera 10 years ago in Pompeii. From that I learned some things.

1. I photograph a brightly colored page with all my contact information on it, and I do that with all my memory cards. I then lock that photo.. I also put that there's a reward, no questions asked, if my memory cards are returned and also my equipment. I put my email, cell phone number, home phone number, name and address on the page. That way, if I lose my camera and someone may look at the pictures and the picture of the brightly colored page REALLY stands out and hopefully I might get something back.

2. When I'm travelling I back up all my pictures every evening onto an Ipad, portable hard drive, or something similar. It's just to easy for a card to be lost, have the card corrupt the files on it, or something elso

3. Even though I take very large files, the largest I can, I shoot on relatively small memory cards. I switch cards each city, region, etc., so if something happens to a card I only lose part of my trip photos.

4. Once I've got what I want on a memory card, I don't carry them with me. If I do I put them in the largest piece of luggage I have in an innocuous box. Otherwise they stay in the hotel room safe.

I truly hope you can recover your media some way!!! I know what they mean to you.
