Help: Itinerary Order (Milan-Venice-Parma-Bologna)

Hi all--

I am flying in on Monday morning into Milan and have a few days before I need to be in Rome by Friday evening (friend's wedding rehearsal).

I really want to go to: 1) Venice (been before, but want to go again) , 2) Parma, and 3) Bologna. I heard Parma/Bologna have amazing food. If time, I wanted to stop by Florence before ending up in Rome.

I realize this is a lot to do in 5 days, so I wanted to get tips on the order. From Milan, should I go to Parma first, and then Venice, then Bologna? Or from Milan, should I go to Venice first and then Bologna and Parma (then back down toward Rome)?

Any tips would be great.

I would do:

Milan-Parma-Bologna-Venice-Rome. to find trains timetables use trenitalia.com or italotreno.it.

In 5 days it is very much, consider that with fast trains Milano-Bologna takes an hour and that all over Italy food is a MUST, some wellknown products or plates come from Parma-Bologna (parmesan, tortellini, tagliatelle, lasagne, prosciutto crudo etc etc) but every Region/town has its own specialities.

For example in Milan one of the specialities is risotto alla milanese (rice with safran) while in Bergamo ( 50 km east) is polenta.

Thank you! We decided to cut out Parma and just do Bologna. We also added in Florence. So we will do Milan-Venice-Bologna-Florence-Rome.

1) Monday - Arrive Milan at 10am; Depart for Venice at 2pm

2) Tuesday - Explore Venice

3) Wednesday - Leave Venice in morning for Bologna. Enjoy Bologna.

4) Thursday - Leave Bologna in afternoon for Florence.

5) Friday - Enjoy Florence during the day and leave in late afternoon for Rome.

Is this too ambitious?
