Using hair dryer and flat iron

Advice on using US hairdryer and flatiron. When we went 2 years ago, the adapter we used kept on blower a fuse, ended up using the Italian hairdryers not good. Help. Dede

1. Re: Using hair dryer and flat iron

Hair dryers, curling irons, and flat irons, draw a LOT of current. The small converters are not made to provide that much, 1500 watts or so. Those are made to charge your camera, shaver, etc., things that draw very little current.

You can buy bigger ones for the hair dryer etc., but they're larger and heavier and more expensive.

I would seriously consider contacting your hotel and using their hair dryers or irons. Maybe not what you're used to, but easier.
