Valencia-Madrid: Cheapest way?

Hi,

I will be in Valencia for the la Tomatina, and on the day of the festival, after washing up, I want to head for Madrid by bus (I guess bus is cheapest). Is there any overnight bus I can take? Movela.es is giving me a Valencia-Almansa-Madrid bus connection for 32 euros total. There must be something cheaper, isn't it?

Please advise.

Avanzabus is providing a bus ride for 27.66 euros. Can I expect anything cheaper?

Maybe you should also check train. The cheapest train to Madrid is 28, but you have to take it on a far from center station (San Isidro) and take 6 hours to reach Madrid. Bear in Mind also that buses get stuck for hours on road at certain dates (such as the end of August)

I take into consideration AVE (high speed train) it is not cheap (79€) but it has important descounts if you buy the tickets via web and at least a forhtnight in advance (up to 60%, wich makes the single trip 32€) or take 4 seats for the price of 2 (50%). Check RENFE web for more information.

There is an enormous difference between AVE and the rest. AVE goes from Valencia Center to Madrid center in just 1h 50 min. I think taht the advantages make worth the extra cost.
