city and beach, valencia the perfect spot?

hi

haven't been to valencia before. looking on the map it seems you easily get the best of both worlds: sea and sun during the day and city mischief in the night.

is this realistic, going effortlessly from beach to city when you feel like it, and if so, should one stay in the city or by the beach?

In summer the main night scene is along the Malvarrosa beach.

Except two or three hotels in the line of the beach, the neighborhood near there is nothing of interest, and some parts are really run down.

The rest of the year there are many areas in Valencia with bivrant nightlife.

Within a distance of a short taxi ride from the beach there are many hotels and much better area aorund CAC (city of arts and science complex), or another part of the city close to a metro station form where you could get to the beach easily.

The beach of Las Arenas-Malvarrosa is quite wide and clean, the water is not as good (it is not transparent), but still good enough for bathing. I visit that beaches whenever i'm in Valencia in summer.
