The site belongs to the Magic Costa Blanca Group there are building a new hotel Atrium Beach. The building had some problems with building permits but now every thing has been sorted and the work can carry on. The hotel should be ready in another couple of years, some of the staff were telling us about it when we stayed at the Monika Holidays it sounds great a bit like a Vagas style hotel.

They have actually removed 2 floors using the robot and the biggest circular saw you´ve ever seen. The robot is facinating to watch, it grabs the concrete and snaps bits of it off! Seems to have stopped now though, saftey barriers replaced on top floor so it looks like thats it. The same developer has more problems in La Cala too. The eyesore apartments on the only bit of green left on beach have now been declared ilegal so he will probably have to demolish those as well. Watch this space.
