Madrid wheelchair rental

Hello, my family will be in Madrid for 3 days and would like to rent a wheelchair for grandma (she walks, but slowly). I've checked a few rental places, incl Hidelasa, but am striking out. Does anyone know if farmacias ever rent wheelchairs? Or if there is a wheelchair rental option at the Atocha station (their hotel is near the station)?

Many thanks.

Farmacias don't rent wheelchairs (sillas de ruedas) but some surgical aids shops (ortopedias) do it. Station's wheelchairs are not allowed to exit into the street.

Post your message in the 'Travelling with Disabilities' Forum. You may find you get a better response to your question.

Also, try 'googling' accessible Europe.

I know that in some areas in Spain the Red Cross loan out wheelchairs. There is not always a charge, they ask you to make a donation.
