Tours or Tour Guide Recommendations.

I am staying in Spain for 10 days right now. After searching in the internet found out that Gibraltar, Linea A, Carteja, San Roque, Los Barrios, Castelar, Algeciras and Tarifa are interesting places to visit. Does anyone knows about a tour company that specializes in this area? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, Thank You.

There are a couple of Tour agents in Gibraltar that offer tours to other places including Bland. I think you might be in the wrong place for tour agents from Spain as this is the Gib forum. Try in the Costa del sol forum although you don't say where you are staying?

I am surprised you aren't looking at places like Seville, Granada, Ronda, Cordoba as these would be my favourite spots in the South. Gibraltar is great of course. La Linea, well there really isn't much there, San Roque is nice but it's not much either. Algeciras is good for Shopping but well... it depends what you want to see.

Have you got a car? If not depending on where you are staying you can get buses and trains to most places in the area although smaller towns won't always be that easy to access. You could even catch the fast ferry from Tarifa to Tangiers and spend a night in Morocco.

You also haven't said why you want to go to other places? Is it history and culture? Good bars, great beaches? Or just a quiet spot to chill?

I was doing some research on the internet about three days ago and was attracted by the history and culture of these places.

I am staying at Costa del Sol in Marbella, Spain

In regards to Seville Granada and Ronda I was there on January of 2011 I am right now in Cordoba and planning to spend a day at Ronda on way back.

You shouldn't need a tour guide for Gibraltar. The Tourist Info Office in Casements Square will give you a map and bus timetables. You can walk to a lot and use the bus to get to the further out places. Not that far as Gibraltar is not that big. A few options to get to the top of the rock. Walk - we did that a few times and we re not super-fit. Nowhere near it! Cable Car or one of the taxi tours.

I am sure travel agents in Marbella will direct you to some interesting escorted trips. I cannot imagine there being much of a call for tours of the places you mentioned, they are more the sort of place you would visit on a driving trip using Rick Steves as your guide.

If you want an escorted tour of Gibraltar you can pick up a taxi at the frontier and they are qualified to give guided tours.

There are very interesting English-language sightseeing tours of San Roque through the local Tourist Office. You can book a tour of the old quarter, see all the local sights and the new municipal museum which is EXCELLENT. The tour features the Carteia archaelogical site and is free of charge. There are also guided tapas tours. Contact details:
