short walk using public transport

We are travelling to Santiago De Compostela for a short break in February. Is it possible to use public transport to travel outside the city to walk the last few kilometers of The Way of Saint James? Something between 8 to 12 kilometers would be ideal.

The easiest way to do the last few km of the walk is to take the bus from the bus station to the airport. It is a regular service for less than €3. The walk back to SdC is about 6-8km but is through built up areas.
