Wedding in Galicia/Baiono

Hi,

My future wife and I are strongly considering getting married in Galicia. We both live in Dublin at the moment so we know it will be a lot harder to organise than if the wedding was in Ireland.

Has anybody got any recommendations for the region. One place we plan to visit soon to check out for suitability is PARADOR DE BAIONA, has anybody been there or even better, has anybody been at a wedding there. Any other suggestions for places to hold the wedding reception in the region would be most welcome.

Finally if anybody knows of any wedding planners in the areas it would be great if you could let me know.

For more information about getting married in Spain you should look at some threads in the Barcelona section. There are two that are quite long but they may give you some pointers. From what we have read it can be quite difficult, and in fact you may only be able to have a blessing here in Spain.

If you contact the Paradore direct they may also be able to help you with any plans.

Good luck

Hi Ian and Irene,

Thanks for the reply. I did have a look at those long threads but a lot of what I saw was specific to Barcelona.

We are going to visit the Paradoe in the next few weeks so I guess we will have a much better idea about it after our visit.

Thanks again

Gerry

Hello again,

After digging around the Internet we have come up with some more info about getting wed in Spain. Below is a link that should help you. The information you want is some way down the page, just pan down. It seems that you will need at least 6 months of work and lots of paperwork (which is no surprise for Spain).

Good luck with your plans
