Temps de Flors 2014

We are visiting the festival on the first Monday (12th May) and are wondering what we can expect, what are the best exhibits to visit etc. We've had a brief look at the website but decided to get some inside knowledge!

The joy of the Temps is nobody knows which are the best until the first day. The installations change every year and are never repeated. Girona is quite a compact city so the idea is that you get a map from the tourist office, start at one end and work your way across the city. The vast majority are around the cathedral and through the Old Town (Barri Vell) so the walk itself is very atmospheric. It can get very crowded at lunchtime so that is the time to take a break and wander across to the new side for a bite to eat, I suggest Plaza Independencia. That said, the day you have chosen is a good one as the weekends are the busiest. The sites that have the biggest budgets are around the Àrab Baths and the cathedral gardens. The best for photos tend to be the Sant Feliu and Cathedral steps. My personal favourites are the private courtyards that are only opened up to the públic for this week and the Jewish museum usually does something quirky.
