car hire and central hotel

please help...just booked ryanair in july to girona, booked house too. A family 2 adults +, 20yr and 18 yr olds

We have 2 nights, the first and last -with no bed..

On a 6pm flight into girona, i feel we should make the most of the city. Can anyone advise--should we hire a car at the airport and drive in??? to stay at a central hotel...or....get a shttle/taxi/bus in and hire from city centre on the saturday mornng?

Or stay out novotel??

thanks julie

The Vilobi is the hotel on the Airport if you have an early flight out.

Where do you want to drop the car off when you return (city/airport) ? How far away is the house you have booked ? Don't you want to make more of a start on that journey in the evening ?

We have hired from several firms at the airport. We would not go back to Auriga again.

Car parking is tight in the city. We have only done it once when stopping for lunch and only just found a space.

thx Mr Cellophane

We are only staying on the coast- just in from girona---hence no rush in the morning, as the villa is available mid afternoon.

I thought the evening wandering girona would be nice? Nice places to eat?-atmospheric?...i was looking at historic hotel, perhaps for a bed.

If parking is not easy, perhaps a town collection would be better on the saturaday am?

that would mean we need to get ourselves from the airport into town.

thx for your help..julie
