Is it worth it to pay to see the towers at Sagrada Família?

Trying to decide if I want to visit the towers at la Sagrada Família. I love to exercise but after walking around all day do I want to climb almost 400 steps?

If it is worth it, do you recommend towers of the Nativity Façade (55 m height) or those of the Passion Façade (75 m height)?

Lastly, should I get the audio guide?

ML0927,

Don't worry about climbing the steps up. You actually must go up by elevator. Coming down, you are asked to take the stairs.

The ticket for tower visits is only a few euros. I enjoyed it because I could see the progress of construction from an aerial perspective. It gives one a much better appreciation for what's been done and what's to come.

Some people say that there are better views of Barcelona to be found elsewhere. That's true because going up is not all about the view of Barcelona. It's about the view of the Sagrada Familia! ;-)

PS. On the way down, there are a a few little balconies where you can step outside, rest and see the view. Gaudi's 'The Cosmos' is located in one of these areas.

I've been to both but can't say I preferred one over another. Have a look at this thread. JoseAntonio does have a preference and I've provided his excellent pictures.

Friends:

Going down 400 stairs does require some effort! I do not think I could do it at my age.

Hola,

Yes for me the Nativity is a little better because when you are at the bridge that connects the two towers you have more diverse details to admire.

On the other hand from the Passion you can see the construction of what will be the central tower of La Sagrada Familia:

so it´s difficult to tell because everyone has a different opinion

Hola JoseAntonio! Hope you are well!

Benny, you don't have to take the stairs. Going up, everyone is required to take the elevator (otherwise there would be too many people huffing and puffing). Going down, I've read about people asking to use the elevator.

ML0927, thanks for saying thanks.

I think it is worth it. Personally, I believe it to be more beautiful inside than on the outside. Either tower is fine, and I would get the audio so you can follow along with the history.
