Mobile Sim

Hi All,

I am trying to work out the best options re using mobiles in Europe for Iphone. We are going to Barcelona, Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels & London...buying a SIM card for each seems to be a hassle.- is their a SIM that we can use in all these places?

Its only for short calls to each other when we go separate ways....do not need to use for emails or to ring Australia. Is there is one that can be purchased in Australia prior so we can give our number for emergencies?

Thanks

We bought a "travel sim" a few years ago from a telephone kiosk in our local shopping mall in Wollongong. It can be used anywhere in the World - we have used it in Africa and Europe as well as within Australia.

It comes in a packet with instructions on how to get you started and how to use. Basically, you remove your usual mobile sim card and replace it with this one.You activate it online and "load" whatever amount of money you want on there in AUD then use it.

When you call the number you wish to call, a voice mail message will tell you how much money is left and whether you want to load more money - you proceed accordingly. Any money left over at the end of your "holiday" is not lost. It stays on the sim card but you have to make a call (just call your own home telephone number) to keep the amount "current". I think it is one call every 4 months but your package documentation will advise the time frame.

We have used it for a number of holidays over the past two years and you don't get any "suprises" on your mobile phone account when you get home. We used it for calling airlines and arranging to meet tour guides. People can call you - just give them the travel sim card number.

Check it out on the net - their website is: travelsim.net.au. So easy to use and hassle free!.

Hopw this helps. Have a great trip.
