ave train prices

we have decided to go to zaragoza in june ,we are flying in to madrid having a couple of days there we might do a day trip to cuenca.we have looked into the price of the ave trains and they seem very expensive 50 euros each single i am hoping we will get a better price with the internet discount we are going in june.

we hope to watch some of the world cup football and sample some spanish delights ie ; tapas and cervez

Check the renfe website. You have 3 fares: general, web and estrella. Estrella are usually the cheapest and you can get tickets for 32-34 euros each way. They have a few estrella tickets especially in the trains that don´t run at peak hours.

Remember you are usually not allowed to change or refund those better priced tickets.

The ave trip is really comfortable and quick (1h 25min aprox) but if you are not in a hurry check the bus at www.alsa.es they charge some 30 euros returned and the bus is not bad
