Granada - safety in Juventud/Colonia Divina Infantina area

We are considering staying in the above area (one of the two) and I was wandering about the safety? Would be very grateful for any advice and also any tips which areas to avoid in Granada?

Many thanks

Jo:

Google Maps says it is 2.7 km walking to the Cathedral. That is a bit far and I would stay closer to downtown.

As pointed out, Colonia Divina is little far out, Juventud less so, for the centre and sites many want to see.

As #1 and I qualify - Granada is a very safe place, FAR safer than London!

both are safe, but as said before, far from interesting places. Granada is a very walkable city if you are in the right spot. I would look for hotels in the center (close to the Cathedral) or in Albaicin area.

There are some seedy neighborhoods at night (for example some areas in Sacromonte), but there are no no-go zones in my opinion. I agree with WomBatt, in general terms much safer than London.
