ADVICE NEEDED---on a few hours in Granada

Our family is arriving by train from Seville on Dec.23 night, and we have just a few hours in Granada, as our flight to Barcelona is Dec.24 at 7 p.m.

How would we best allocate our time, to be able to see the Alhambra as well as some other main attractions in Granada.

Also, what is the safest and cheapest way for the 5 of us to get from the train station to our hotel Guadalupe in Granada that night, and then to the airport the next evening?

Thank you most kindly

Chocoholic:

You could see the Alhambra first thing in the morning of Dec. 24. Read Buying Alhambra Tickets Online.

After lunch you could visit the Cathedral. Then see the stores around the church.

Chocoholic007,

As Benny, plus the chapel next door to the Cathedral and I will reinforce pre-purchase tickets for the Alhambra.

'what is the safest and cheapest way for the 5 of us to get from the train station to our hotel Guadalupe in Granada' - two taxis.

Best wishes.

For as popular a day as 24 December you really do need to pre-book Alhambra tickets a.s.a.p.

www.alhambra-tickets.es

The site is VERY slow but you get there in the end!

In terms of transport, you are probably best to get 2 taxis at nighttime from train station, however to get to the airport there is a shuttle bus that runs from the centre of town, you can catch it from Gran Vía de Colon opposite the cathedral.

Thank you so much. I am definitely getting the Alhambra tickets in the next few days.

Is there any potential issue using a regular U.S. credit card, say Mastercard? I did hear some members mention that at the time of pick-up from the machine, one needed to enter a 3-digit pin? Is this the pin on the back of the credit card, or is this some type of debit card pin?

Don't want to have a problem on the morning of the visit!!!!

Also, would you say that an 11:00 time slot is ideal, because that allows us to enter as early as we want and do the other sites, garden etc., while ensuring that we can enter the palace at a reasonable time, and then eat lunch in their restaurant after the palace?

Or is earlier better?
