1. Re: Help?

There aren't many hotels in Torremolinos that do AI as the Ayuntamiento discourages it because of the bad effects on the local economy. If you look at the main holiday companies they tend to do the AI offers.

Where did you used to stay? A heck of a lot has changed since the 1990s!

3. Re: Help?

www.alpharooms.com has 15 AI hotels for Torremolinos next summer. Think the Ayuntamiento are losing their grip.

The Marconfort Beach Club is A.I. and overlooks the beach, it has a sister hotel in town called Marconfort Griego. We've used both in the past on A.I. and they are good value for money in comparison with others. The Griego is 3* food's really good and it has a rooftop area for sunbathing. The Beach Club is 4* and the foods almost as good as Griego's and they do freshly made pasta dishes as-you-order. It also has much better entertainment than the Griego with professional acts brought in rather than the animacion team trying to perform shows. Both are very competitively priced, depends on whether you prefer being in town or on the beach.

5. Re: Help?

To each his own but AI is killing local trade and I'm surprised that the Ayuntamiento are allowing so many in the area. As if things aren't bad enough for local bars and restaurants they encourage this which will mean even less business for the locals, such a shame. So many people going AI don't bother to even venture out of the resorts so miss out on so much and don't get to experience what the towns have to offer.

Agreed, have always stay in self catering accomadation, but looking at AL as funds are tight.

Will make return visits to Jumbo's, Dreams, Sun Inn, Smudges Bar, Irish Bar & The Stagedoor if they are still operating.
